What 10% of the bill is worth over the warranty.

Enter the monthly electric bill, or kWh and the blended rate. We apply the commercial planning figure of about 10% kWh, then compound the electric rate for 10 years. Projection, not a guarantee. Results vary versus your baseline.

Annual rate escalation

Long-run U.S. commercial electricity has risen about 2.8%/year. Since 2021 the commercial class has been closer to 5%. Default is 5% so the 10-year warranty is not modeled as a frozen bill. EIA April 2026 commercial average: 13.51 ¢/kWh.

How the math works

The savings rate stays 10%. The bill does not.

Year n savings = Year 1 annual bill × 10% × (1 + escalation)n − 1. kWh held constant. 10-year total = Year 1 savings × [((1 + r)10 − 1) / r].

A $3,000 monthly bill at 10% and 5% escalation is $3,600 in Year 1 and about $45,280 over the warranty, versus $36,000 if the rate never moved.
