The operating-cost problem

Part of the kWh on the bill never does useful work.

That waste has a name: harmonics. They show up wherever a commercial panel is full of electronics and drives. They raise the bill, heat the gear, and shorten equipment life. Tune is the commercial filter we take to that panel.

What they are

Non-linear loads distort the wave.

Harmonics happen when devices convert AC power to DC. Those loads are non-linear. Today they are not a side issue. Between 35% and 60% of electricity is consumed by non-linear loads.

On a four-wire commercial panel that distortion travels the system. Computers run hotter. HVAC and refrigeration work harder. LED and controls do not deliver what they were spec’d to deliver. You pay for energy the load did not use, and you pay again in maintenance and replacement.

Share of load that is non-linear: Esource and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The same gear that runs the site creates the waste.

What Tune does

Passive. On the neutral. No power in.

PointFact
InstallOn the neutral bus of a qualifying four-wire panel, up to 480 VAC. About 30 to 60 minutes. Tune-trained installer or your facilities staff.
OperationPassive inductive filter. Consumes no electricity. No settings. No service contract. Active harmonic gear is the opposite: it draws power and needs upkeep.
RecordFirst devices installed in 2012. Still in service. UL listed. DOE-recognized as a power-saving product. U.S. made. Patented design.
Planning figureAbout 10% kWh reduction on a commercial panel. Results vary versus your baseline. We measure it on your site.
Harmonics will not disappear because the load mix is what it is. The question is whether the wasted kWh stays on the bill.
